Will You Soar With Eagles?

Sharing this word from Rev. Johnson

Good Morning; Have A Blessed Day!

Will You Soar With Eagles?

…they shall mount up with wings like eagles … Isaiah 40:31b

I've discovered a couple of interesting things about eagles. For one thing, eagles don't grovel in chicken coops. No! These marvelous birds were created to fly high.

And this is what today's verse is telling you and me… God's plan for us is to take flight and to live supernaturally-empowered lives.

Our Pastor once gave us this example: "I once heard a man ask his friend how he was doing. His friend replied, 'I'm doing okay under the circumstances'.  The man then told his friend that Christians had no business being under the circumstances".  Here's is the point; We were made to soar above our circumstances! The apostle Paul put it this way, "Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth" (Colossians 3:2).

Listen! Eagles can't be bothered when storms come their way. They just fly higher when the winds begin to blow. The harder the storm rages, the higher they fly!   And this is what Jesus Christ has enabled us to do as His followers. When times of crisis come, when the storms rage… God speaks to our hearts and say, "Look up here… come up higher… draw closer to me. I'll see you through."   Don't let anyone… not even yourself… talk you out of the promise to "mount up with the wings of eagles." This is our promise from God!

So, today let God lift you to new heights; then you can soar with the eagles!  Amen!  Amen!

New Bible Study starts June 1

We are a little more than a week away from the start of the online Bible Study using the book Celebration of Discipline. We will use this book for a whole year. If you haven't ordered your book click on one of the links to the left to order your book.

Navigating Church Titles

As ministers we understand the titles of Minister and Reverend.  However, depending on the denomination and the geographic location you will not be called Reverend until you have been ordained.  Yes it can be confusing but let me highlight a few more things to clear up the confusion.

Senior Pastor – Have to be other Pastor to be senior

Pastor – Called by the Church

Associate Pastor – Ordained.  Partnership with the Pastor where the Associate Pastor and Pastor share information.  Sanction by church vote

Assistant Pastor – Ordained.  Subject to Hierarchy, appointed by Pastor needs to be a church vote.

Executive Minister – Call and Licensed or Ordained.  Day to Day operation Administrative function.

Executive Pastor – Ordained.  Administrative and still function in the Pastor Role.

Minister of Music – Ordained. Called to the Ministry of Music.

Assistant to the Pastor – Call and Licensed.  Preach; pick up guest preachers and other tasks.

Associate Minister – Called and Licensed.  Various task and ministry.  Associated to the particular church

Licentiate – A person who was just licensed

Sometime when in Rome we do as they do.

Welcome to On the Move Ministries

Welcome my Sisters and Brothers.

This is a new concept for Bible Study. Since we all in one way or another travel for work and still need to deepen our relationship with God, I thought this would be a great way to have an online Bible Study and a monthly fellowship. Starting in June On the Move Ministries will begin posting weekly online Bible Study lessons.

I decided to use Richard Foster's book Celebration of Discipline because this book truly help shape me as a new convert to Christianity 13 years ago.  For the last 9 years I have used parts of this book to teach spiritual maturity classes and workshops for new and seasoned Christians.

As we cover each topic in depth this blog will serve the purpose to discuss each discipline on a weekly basis.  I will post a full lesson each week to engage you all.  However, the last Sunday of each month we will meet for fellowship and further discussion.  I started to say Charlotte only but since I'm always traveling for business or ministry I will let you know at the beginning of the month what state and city.  Watch out now On the Move Ministries will be coming to your town.

Lastly, to comment on this blog everyone will have to join.  So join today and share this information with others and let us keep the Gospel on the Move with On the Move Ministries.
