Reflection:
Based on these scriptures, how would you describe Christian hope?

What does it mean to live with this hope?

How have you experienced hope in your walk with God?

How would you describe hope as active and dynamic in your life?


Prayer:  Lord, I want to keep my eyes fixed on you and the hope I have in your will for me.  Help me trust in your and participate in the hope you pour into my life.  Help me to live it out.  Amen.

Peter's first reaction was hope that Jesus was really out there on the water.  What does that say about the hope within him?

Why did he start to sink?

How do distractions take our minds off of Jesus and our eyes off of the hope we have in him?

How is hope a firm and secure anchor for your soul?


Prayer:  Lord, call me to walk on the water with you.  Secure my hope firmly in my heart that I may avoid doubt, distraction, and despair.  Be an anchor for my soul.  Amen.

Prayer:  Lord, give me the hope and firm belief that you are good and you do great things.  Let me carry within the hope that you fill my heart with and sustain me through times of need.  Amen.

Prayer:  God, I know you are the only reliable source of hope.  I know in my mind that I need not look elsewhere, though my mind is prone to wander.  Keep my mind and heart set on your.  Ground me in the hope that you are always with and for me.  Amen.
