Why is humility so important in leading and being led?

How can you be a leader in the way described in today's verses?
Prayer: Lord, help me to be humble and not self-seeking. Help me voluntarily lead others to a deep faith in you. Help me not to rule over but humbly serve those in my care. Amen.
